Brea, Orange County
Since 1975 Brea has required developers to install public sculpture with every large project, and nearly two hundred works now stand outside its offices and shopping centers. The old downtown was cleared and rebuilt in the 1990s as a walkable district along Birch Street, with theaters and restaurants. Carbon Canyon Regional Park, on the east side, shelters a small grove of coast redwoods.
